Over the past eight months, Black men have lost more than 567,000 jobs across America.

National Urban League President Marc Morial is placing part of the blame on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Morial said the job losses reflect what he described as a systemic rollback of civil rights enforcement under the Trump administration, combined with the EEOC’s failure to investigate workplace discrimination.

“The EEOC has become an embarrassment to America,” Morial said. “The EEOC is refusing to do its job. The EEOC wants to hide racial discrimination.”

Morial’s comments came Thursday with the release of the National Urban League’s annual “State of Black America” report.
